The chairman of the BIAL Foundation, Luís Portela, was honoured by the Portugal Digital Economy Association (ACEPI) with the Navegantes XXI Career Award for his work in leading BIAL, an international innovative pharmaceutical company of Portuguese origin, which currently operates in around 60 countries.
Luís Portela received the award from Alexandre Nilo Fonseca, president of ACEPI, at a ceremony held on 17 October at Exponor in Matosinhos, as part of ACEPI's Navegantes XXI Awards, an initiative to recognise and distinguish the best in the Digital Economy and Society in Portugal.
The Navegantes XXI Awards, since their creation in 2006, have recognised the great drivers of the economy in our country. Personalities such as José Mariano Gago, Francisco Murteira Nabo, António Carrapatoso, Roberto Carneiro, Isabel Ferreira, Belmiro de Azevedo, Francisco Pinto Balsemão, Leonor Beleza, Dionísio Pestana, Alexandre Soares dos Santos, Rui Nabeiro and Paulo Moita de Macedo have been honoured in previous editions.
